Union Concert Hall

Maribor

The city particularity is the Union Concert Hall, built over a hundred years ago by the enthusiastic choral singer Anton Götz and has exceptional acoustics. This was key to Maribor having long since become the national centre of choral singing with the national choral competition »Naša pesem« (»Our song«), while also taking place here for the past 30 years is International choral competition Gallus – Maribor, its climax the finale for the »European Grand Prix for Choral Singing«.

MORE ABOUT THE VENUE

»I’ve been to Maribor a few times and I don’t remember such a high level, which is also good for the audience. I’m really happy to be here and I’m already looking forward to the next competition.« (April 2019)

GÁBOR MÓCZÁR, ex President of the The European Choral Association – Europa Cantat (ECA-EC) and current Vice President of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM)
